Ski Touring Skins

The skins allow you to climb on skis up the slope. We do not usually perceive them as the most important part of touring ski equipment. But without them there would be no ski touring as we know it. Ski touring skins are actually “hairy” strips that you stick on the sliding surface of touring skis to climb to the top. Most touring ski skins are attached to the skis using a tip loop, ski tail buckles and glue. Depending on the composition of the skating rink, three types of skins are available: 100% Mohair, Mix 65/35 and 100% polyamide. Depending on the type of glue, we can choose skins with classic glue or so-called skins without glueMohair is faster, but also slides back a bit, the shelf life is also shorter. Therefore, it is the right choice for competitors and pros. Mix is the right combination of all of the above, so this is generally the best choice.
We recommend Colltex touring skins, the first touring ski skins! The legendary Swiss manufacturer launched the first touring skins in 1968.
