Why ski touring in Slovenia?

Slovenia is small, so three very different mountain ranges are less than an hour from Kranj. That gives the guide real choice: if the wind has stripped one range, the next one may hold perfect powder or corn.

The mountains are not the highest in the Alps, but the tours are long and varied. Summits are mostly between 2,000 and 2,560 m, followed by up to 1,000 m of skiing, often with views to the Adriatic on one side and Austria on the other.

Highlights

  • Grintovec (2,558 m), the highest peak of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps
  • Classic Julian Alps tours: Mojstrovka, Kotovo sedlo, Rodica
  • Begunjščica and Stol in the Karavanke, above Austria
  • Tours chosen daily from three mountain ranges
  • Home base in Kranj, next to our ski touring shop
